Description

The LANTAC Dragon Plan-B is a full-length muzzle brake for .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO rifles, aimed at shooters who want aggressive recoil and muzzle-rise control without giving up the option to run a suppressor hub system. The key engineering concept here is LANTAC’s Short Energy Pulse system, which works by shortening the duration of the recoil impulse so that the felt push from each round resolves before the next one begins. In practical terms, this means muzzle movement does not compound between shots — a meaningful advantage when firing at speed or running a rifle hard in sustained use.

What separates the Plan-B variant from LANTAC’s standard Dragon brake is the mount geometry at the muzzle end. Instead of terminating in a conventional thread pattern, it transitions to a Plan-B hub interface, which allows compatible suppressor mounting systems — including those following the Q LLC hub standard — to attach directly. LANTAC notes that this mount design is not licensed from Q, so suppressor warranties from that manufacturer may be affected; buyers using a Q-system suppressor should factor that in before committing.

Construction is machined from AISI 4140 steel on Swiss lathes, then hardened and finished with a QPQ (Quench Polish Quench) nitride process to AMS2753D standards. That treatment produces a hard, corrosion-resistant surface that holds up to heat and fouling better than a simple oxide finish. The brake ships with a timing shim set so the ports can be indexed correctly at installation. LANTAC recommends Rocksett semi-permanent thread locker for final fitment.
