Description

The Lantac Dragon DGN556B-WM is a muzzle brake built around a specific purpose: allowing shooters to run a Dead Air Wolfman suppressor via the KEYMO mounting interface without voiding the suppressor’s warranty, because the mount design is fully licensed from Dead Air. That licensing detail matters in practice — unlicensed KEYMO-compatible brakes can create warranty complications with the Wolfman; this one does not.

Beyond suppressor compatibility, the Dragon functions as a standalone brake through Lantac’s Short Energy Pulse system. The design works by shortening the duration of each recoil impulse rather than simply redirecting gas, which means successive shots produce impulses that do not stack on top of one another. The practical result is that the muzzle returns to target more consistently between shots, which becomes more pronounced during rapid or sustained fire. The brake ships with a timing shim set so it can be clocked correctly on the barrel without compromising port alignment.

Construction starts with AISI 4150 steel — a step up in carbon content from the 4140 commonly used in barrel stock — precision-machined on Swiss lathes and then hardened to 48–52 Rc. The surface receives a QPQ Nitride treatment conforming to AMS2753D, which builds corrosion resistance into the steel itself rather than sitting on top of it as a coating layer would. Each unit carries a serial number for quality traceability. Lantac recommends Rocksett semi-permanent thread locker for installation, which is sold separately. The brake ships ready to mount on a 1/2-28 UNEF right-hand threaded muzzle and is manufactured in the United States.
