Description

The Lantac Dragon muzzle brake for Dead Air’s KEYMO system is built for shooters who want aggressive recoil and muzzle climb control on their 5.56 platform without giving up the option to run a suppressor. The core idea is Lantac’s Short Energy Pulse design, which works to shorten the recoil impulse duration so that successive rounds don’t compound on one another — each shot resolves before the next one fires, keeping the muzzle where you put it and letting you reacquire without chasing the rifle back onto target. That matters most in fast, high-volume fire where conventional brakes begin to lose ground.

The KEYMO interface is fully licensed from Dead Air, which means mounting a Dead Air Sandman suppressor doesn’t void the suppressor’s warranty — the brake is an authorized host, not a workaround. The Sandman line uses welded Stellite baffle cores and detachable front caps; the KEYMO system engages that platform directly without adapters.

Construction is AISI 4140 steel hardened to 48–52 Rc, then QPQ Nitrided to AMS2753D standards. That process drives nitrogen into the surface layer rather than coating over it, giving the finish genuine corrosion resistance and wear resistance rather than just surface protection. Machining is done on Swiss lathes, which suits the close tolerances a suppressor mount needs to function correctly. The brake is serial numbered for traceability and ships with a timing shim set. Lantac recommends Rocksett semi-permanent thread locker for installation. Thread pitch is 1/2-28 UNEF right-hand, the standard for this caliber. Made in the USA.
