MDT’s Gen2 AICS-pattern polymer magazine is built for bolt-action precision rifles running short-action chassis and bottom metal designed around the AICS footprint. It fits the majority of short-action AICS-compatible platforms, making it a straightforward drop-in for shooters who have already invested in that chassis ecosystem.

The body is injection-molded polymer, which keeps weight down and eliminates the corrosion concerns that come with steel magazines in wet or humid conditions. Where polymer magazines sometimes fall short is spring performance and follower geometry — MDT addresses both with a high-tensile steel spring that maintains consistent tension through the full round count, and an injection-molded polymer follower designed to keep each cartridge at the correct presentation angle for reliable feeding. Consistent cartridge alignment matters more in a bolt-action than it might in a semi-auto, because there is no mechanical energy from cycling to help seat a slightly misaligned round.

The feed lips are reinforced, which reduces the flex that can develop over time with repeated loading cycles and is one of the more common failure points in polymer magazine design. A removable floorplate means you can disassemble the magazine for cleaning without tools — useful after a muddy field session or when carbon and debris work their way into the internals.

The 12-round capacity gives you a meaningful edge in round count over the standard 10-round AICS offerings without requiring any modification to compatible chassis hardware.
