Description

The Magpul PMAG 5 7.62 AC is a purpose-built magazine for the SIG SAUER CROSS bolt-action rifle, constructed from impact- and crush-resistant polymer to hold up in the field without adding unnecessary weight. Its AICS-pattern footprint is what makes it a natural fit for the CROSS platform, and Magpul notes it may also function with other short-action AICS-spec bottom metal systems, giving it some flexibility beyond that single host rifle.

The standard five-round capacity is where the design makes a deliberate trade-off: it keeps the shooter within common hunting regulations that cap round count in the field, without requiring a separate reduced-capacity insert or plug. If your use shifts toward competition or extended field work, the follower can be modified to accept a sixth round — a change Magpul built in intentionally rather than leaving to improvisation.

The high-visibility orange follower serves two purposes: it makes an empty chamber visually obvious at a glance, and it includes a feed ramp geometry that allows loading a round directly through the ejection port when the magazine is seated but the chamber is clear. That detail matters on a bolt gun where top-loading is sometimes faster than a full magazine exchange. GEN M3 technology adds a paint-pen dot matrix on the body so you can mark individual magazines for load type or round count, and the flared floor plate gives a positive purchase for one-handed retrieval when your hands are cold or gloved.
