Description

The AFG-2 is Magpul’s compact take on the angled fore grip concept, built for shooters who want better hand position on a railed handguard without sacrificing rail space for other accessories. Where a conventional vertical grip puts the support hand below the bore axis, the AFG-2 angles the wrist upward so the hand sits higher and closer to the centerline of the bore. That geometry distributes recoil force more directly back into the shooter’s arm rather than leveraging the muzzle upward, which translates to faster recovery between shots and more consistent muzzle control during rapid fire.

Compared to the original AFG, the AFG-2 runs shorter and slimmer, which matters on carbines with shorter handguards or setups already crowded with a light, switch, or rail covers. A minimum of three inches of Picatinny rail is all it needs, and it indexes to both MIL-STD-1913 and NATO STANAG 4694 rail standards, so compatibility is broad. The polymer three-piece construction keeps weight down — the whole unit comes in at 2.53 oz. — and the design ships with two interchangeable finger shelf inserts: one flat in the style of an A1 profile, one with a nub in the style of an A2. Neither is permanently committed; you pick whichever shelf suits your grip. All mounting hardware is included. This particular variant is finished in Olive Drab Green, Magpul’s ODG color, and is made in the USA.
