The Magpul AMAG 15 SG9 is built around a heat-treated stainless-steel alloy body specifically for shooters who want the dimensional stability and dent resistance that metal construction provides, particularly in conditions where a polymer body might flex under sustained use or rough handling. The tradeoff is modest additional weight, but the construction also means the feed lips maintain their geometry over a longer service life without the creep that can affect polymer under compression.

Inside, a high-visibility controlled-tilt follower keeps rounds presented at a consistent angle through the full range of the magazine, reducing the geometry changes that can cause feeding inconsistencies as the stack height drops. The stainless-steel spring is matched to the body material, avoiding the dissimilar-metal interaction concerns that come with mixing spring alloys and body materials. The flared floorplate removes without tools for field stripping and cleaning, which matters when carbon and debris work their way into the magazine body during extended range sessions.

Round-count windows begin at five rounds and step in single-round increments up the spine, giving a precise read on what remains rather than a rough approximation. A paint-pen dot matrix panel on the body lets you mark individual magazines for rotation tracking or kit identification without adhesive labels that peel and jam mechanisms.
