Description
The Magpul Armorer’s Wrench is a purpose-built shop tool for anyone who assembles, maintains, or services AR-15 and M4-pattern rifles. Rather than juggling a drawer full of single-purpose tools, this wrench consolidates the most common armorer tasks into a single heat-treated steel implement with a manganese phosphate finish that adds grip where bare steel would slip.
The barrel nut interface handles both standard USGI-pattern and free-float tube barrel nuts, so the same wrench moves between a mil-spec build and a free-float handguard installation without swapping tools. The castle nut section uses extended teeth specifically to clear Magpul’s ASAP sling plate without removing it first—a detail that matters when the nut is already torqued and you need to back it off for stock replacement. Rifle receiver extensions and carbine receiver extensions each have their own dedicated engagement surfaces, which matters because the two differ in diameter and a loose fit there risks damaging the finish or rounding the nut.
The wrench accepts a standard 1/2-inch drive torque wrench, and the relevant USGI torque specifications are embossed directly on the handle so you are not cross-referencing a manual mid-task. Two hammer faces give you a striking surface when driving punches or seating stubborn components. A 3/4-inch hex opening fits standard flash hiders and muzzle brakes. Overall length is 11.7 inches with a handle thickness of 0.35 inches—proportions that provide enough leverage for properly torqued barrel nuts without the oversized bulk of dedicated bench tools. Manufactured in the USA from solid steel.
