Description

The Magpul Bipod in Flat Dark Earth is built around A.R.M.S. 17S-style mounting, which means it attaches and detaches quickly without tools using the same lever-lock interface common on A.R.M.S.-compatible rails and rings. If your rifle already runs a 17S-style mount or throw-lever base, this bipod drops straight on without any additional hardware beyond that mount itself.

The legs are spring-tensioned, so they snap down and lock into a shooting position with one hand rather than requiring you to unfold and fiddle each leg individually — useful when time or awkward positions are a factor. Seven half-inch spaced detents let you set leg height across a four-inch range, giving you meaningful ground clearance adjustment without continuously variable slop. Leg extensions lock positively at each detent rather than relying on friction alone.

Pan and tilt are where this bipod earns its keep on uneven ground. Fifty degrees of total tilt and forty degrees of total pan handle side-slopes and angled surfaces that would otherwise require you to reposition the rifle entirely. Both axes lock with a single knurled knob positioned between the legs, reachable without breaking your shooting grip significantly. Notably, pan can be locked at zero while tilt remains free — a useful configuration for shooting on a slope where you want cant correction but no lateral movement.

Construction is 6061-T6 aluminum with injection-molded reinforced polymer and stainless steel internals, finished to MIL-SPEC hard anodize. The tight manufacturing tolerances and anodized surfaces keep contact points quiet — no squeaking or rattling as you move. Soft rubber feet grip a variety of surfaces and are removable with a roll pin punch, and the legs accept most Atlas-pattern replacement feet if you want to swap them out later.
