Description
The Magpul CTR/MOE Cheek Riser gives shooters running optics or tall iron sights a straightforward way to raise their cheek weld without replacing or permanently modifying their stock. It clips directly onto CTR, MOE, DT, and PR carbine stocks, adding half an inch of height — enough to bring the eye into consistent alignment with a low-profile scope or red dot that would otherwise demand an awkward neck crane on a standard cheek weld.
The design originated with M14 carbine stock conversions, and that lineage shapes how you should think about its application. On a standard AR-15 or M4 platform, the riser sits close enough to the charging handle that it can interfere with the charging stroke unless the stock is fully extended. That is not a flaw so much as an honest trade-off: if you are running this on a bolt-action chassis, a precision rifle build, or an M14-pattern stock conversion where charging handle clearance is not a factor, it works without compromise. AR shooters who need it can still make it work, but stock position becomes a constraint rather than a preference.
Installation requires no tools — the riser clips on and stays put without modification to the host stock. Because it is a discrete accessory rather than a new stock, it also lets you swap between cheek heights on the same platform as your optic configuration changes. Magpul offers this riser in 0.25-inch and 0.75-inch heights as well, so dialing in the right stack for a given setup is a matter of picking the increment that matches your sight height, not improvising with padding.
