Description
The Magpul CTR Carbine Stock in Olive Drab Green is a drop-in buttstock for AR-15 and M4 carbines running mil-spec diameter receiver extension tubes. It suits shooters who want a stock that stays where they put it without rattling loose during a course of fire, and who need legitimate sling versatility rather than a single attachment point bolted on as an afterthought.
The A-frame profile does two things at once: it keeps the silhouette snag-free when moving through tight spaces or drawing from a vehicle, and it wraps around the adjustment latch so the stock does not accidentally release mid-carry. That latch is ambidextrous, so left- and right-handed shooters both get a clean reach to it without repositioning the firing hand. Underneath the latch mechanism sits a supplemental friction lock — a separate tightening system that lets you dial out the play that develops between a stock and its tube over time. The result is that once you find your preferred length of pull, the stock holds that position without shifting shot to shot.
Sling options are more complete than most stocks allow at this price point. A push-button QD socket sits at the rear and accepts swivels up to 1.5 inches, with access from either side. Two footman’s loops and a lanyard hole at the toe add further attachment points for different carry configurations and paracord rigs. The 0.3-inch rubber butt-pad adds grip against soft body armor and modular plate carriers where a smooth polymer surface would skate off under recoil. If you eventually mount a magnified optic and need to raise your cheek height on a fully extended stock, the CTR accepts Magpul’s snap-on CTR Cheek Risers without modification. Made in the USA.
