Description
Foam inserts work fine until your rifle configuration changes — then you’re cutting new foam or buying a new case. The Magpul DAKA Grid Case Organizer for the Pelican V800 replaces that foam entirely with a modular panel system built from expanded polypropylene, a closed-cell material that resists liquids and chemicals while absorbing impact more predictably than open-cell foam alternatives.
The system ships with a grid base, ten triple blocks, ten double blocks, and replacement base foam. The blocks interlock without tools, so rearranging the layout around a new optic, a folded stock, or an entirely different rifle takes minutes rather than an afternoon with a knife. Because nothing is glued or permanently shaped, the same case can carry a precision bolt gun one weekend and a suppressed carbine the next without any modification to the case itself.
The panel design also uses the interior volume more efficiently than a single pre-cut foam block. Instead of carving away material and discarding it, you position only the blocks you need, leaving the remaining space available for magazines, optics, tools, or ammunition. The expanded polypropylene construction means each block holds its shape under repeated loading and does not compress permanently over time the way softer foam does. Cleaning requires nothing more than wiping down the surface. For anyone who carries different configurations to the range, trains with multiple platforms, or simply wants a case that adapts rather than dictates, this organizer solves the core problem that fixed foam creates.
