The Magpul DAKA Hard Case R44 is built for shooters who need a serious transport solution for mid-length rifles and the gear that travels with them — whether that means checking firearms on a flight, moving rifles between facilities, or storing a complete duty setup between uses. It accommodates up to two standard rifles in the 16-inch barrel class along with associated accessories, and the interior is organized around the DAKA GRID system rather than conventional foam.

That distinction matters in practice. Traditional open-cell foam traps moisture, oil, and debris, degrades with repeated packing and unpacking, and commits you to a fixed layout from the moment you cut it. The DAKA GRID uses interlocking Expanded Polypropylene panels paired with repositionable Double and Triple Blocks that press in and pull out without tools, so the interior reconfigures to match whatever you’re carrying without requiring a new insert. The material wipes clean rather than absorbing contaminants, and it holds gear more firmly against movement than foam that has begun to compress and break down.

The case shell is injection-molded from gas-charged polypropylene, a construction method that reduces wall weight while increasing structural rigidity and impact resistance. Double-walled corner pockets serve a dual purpose: they act as integrated bumper zones that absorb contact damage at the points most vulnerable to drops and handling, and they provide additional storage without consuming GRID space. Push-button cam latches open one-handed with audible confirmation, and integrated lock pass-throughs sit in recessed housings that protect both the locks and the case surface during transport. Three ergonomic handles include a wheel-side grip, and ball-bearing wheels with rubber overmolding roll quietly across hard surfaces. Made in the USA, finished in Flat Dark Earth.
