Description
The Magpul Hunter American stock is built for hunters and practical rifle shooters who want a meaningful ergonomic upgrade over the factory Ruger American stock without touching a bedding compound or calling a gunsmith. It drops in cleanly on short action Ruger American rifles in right-hand configuration, and because it requires no inletting or fitting, the swap is straightforward.
The core of the design is a reinforced polymer shell wrapped around an anodized aluminum bedding block with steel recoil lugs. That combination matters because the aluminum block registers the action consistently shot to shot, while the polymer keeps overall weight manageable for field carry. The steel recoil lugs take the impulse directly rather than relying on synthetic material alone, which keeps the joint between action and stock from loosening over time.
Length of pull adjusts from 13.0 to 15.0 inches using the included 0.50-inch spacers, which covers a genuine range of shooter builds rather than splitting the difference with a fixed stock. The stock ships fitted with a 0.25-inch cheek riser; optional 0.00-inch, 0.50-inch, and 0.75-inch risers let you match comb height to your optic mounting height without improvising. Getting both cheek weld and eye relief right at the same time is what makes these two adjustments useful together rather than independently.
The included STANAG magazine well replaces the factory Ruger magazine interface, opening compatibility to the broader ecosystem of AR-pattern magazines. M-LOK slots on the forend let you mount a bipod, light, or sling hardware without adapters. The Olive Drab Green finish is the MAG1207-ODG variant.
