Description
The Magpul Hunter 700L is built for shooters who want a meaningful mechanical upgrade to a long-action Remington 700 without committing to a full precision chassis system. It fits right-hand long-action 700-pattern rifles as a true drop-in replacement, meaning no inletting, no gunsmithing, and no permanent modification to the barreled action.
The foundation of the stock is a Type III hard anodized A380 cast aluminum V-bedding block. Where a standard factory polymer stock contacts the action inconsistently under recoil, this bedding block creates a repeatable, solid bearing surface that reduces shot-to-shot variation. The surrounding polymer shell is built around a tapered beam design through the forend, which keeps the structure rigid enough to free-float factory Remington barrels and aftermarket barrels up to 0.920 inches in diameter — an important consideration if you plan to run a heavier hunting or target barrel down the road.
Length of pull adjusts from 13 to 15 inches using the included 0.50-inch spacers, which matters when fitting the rifle to different shooters or accommodating layered cold-weather clothing. The stock ships with a 0.25-inch cheek riser installed; additional risers in 0.00, 0.50, and 0.75-inch heights are sold separately, so you can dial in cheek weld to match a specific optic height rather than accepting a fixed comb. The 60-degree grip angle keeps the wrist in a more neutral position during extended shooting sessions.
Eight M-LOK slots on the forend give you direct attachment points for a bipod, lights, or sling hardware without adapters. The stock also accepts the Magpul Bolt Action Magazine Well 700L, which converts the action to feed from detachable AICS-pattern magazines — a worthwhile addition if you want faster reloads in the field. Made in the USA.
