Description
The Magpul Hunter Lite stock for the Remington 700 Short Action is built for hunters who need a capable, lightweight platform without giving up the features that make a bolt-action rifle practical in the field. It fits the standard Remington 700 footprint as well as rifles built on the 700 pattern, so it covers a wide range of short-action builds without modification.
The core design argument here is weight and bulk reduction relative to Magpul’s original Hunter 700 stock. The Hunter Lite comes in roughly 25% lighter and carries a forend that is approximately 25% narrower, which matters when you are packing a rifle through variable terrain over a long day. That slimmer forend also affects how the rifle mounts from shooting positions — a narrower profile allows a more consistent hand placement, and reduces fatigue during an extended stalk or glassing session where the rifle is handled repeatedly.
The stock converts between right- and left-handed configurations by swapping the included inserts, which makes it genuinely usable across different shooters rather than being handed-specific from the factory. Length of pull can be tuned by installing or removing the included half-inch spacers at the buttstock, letting you dial in fit for different clothing layers or body dimensions without aftermarket parts. M-LOK slots on the forend allow accessory attachment — a bipod, sling mount, or light — without adding permanent hardware or bulk. The Flat Dark Earth finish is Magpul’s own designation for this colorway.
