Description
The Magpul Hunter X-22 Takedown stock is built for shooters who want to get more out of their Ruger 10/22 Takedown without modifying the action or barrel. It fits the standard 10/22 Takedown pattern directly, requiring no gunsmithing, so the swap is straightforward and reversible. This is a purpose-built chassis, not a generic stock adapted to fit—the geometry is specific to the Takedown platform’s split receiver and barrel-detach mechanism.
The stock ships with a reversible barrel tray, which matters if you run a heavier bull profile rather than the factory pencil barrel. Swapping the tray rather than buying a separate component keeps the fit correct for whichever barrel you have mounted. Length of pull and comb height are both adjustable, so a single stock can be dialed in for different shooters or different optic heights without adding separate risers or cheek pads. A non-slip rubber buttpad keeps the rifle planted during positional shooting, and the adjustable comb is particularly useful when switching between a rimfire scope and iron sights, since eye position changes significantly between the two.
M-LOK slots on the forend allow direct attachment of compatible accessories without requiring a separate rail adapter, keeping weight down and maintaining a clean sight line. Multiple sling attachment points give you options depending on how you carry. The whole chassis is molded from reinforced polymer in Magpul’s Flat Dark Earth finish, which holds up to field use without the maintenance concerns of a wood stock. For a 10/22 Takedown owner who shoots from field positions, hunts small game, or simply wants a more ergonomic platform than the factory stock provides, this is a practical, well-considered upgrade.
