Description
Standard USGI aluminum magazines are functional and proven, but their stamped steel floorplates can be difficult to grip and offer no real purchase for a quick magazine change. Magpul’s L-Plate replaces that floorplate with a stainless steel base overmolded in Santoprene rubber, giving you a surface that stays grippy in wet or cold conditions without adding meaningful bulk to the magazine. The rubber overmold also absorbs some of the impact energy if a loaded magazine is dropped during a reload or range handling, which helps protect both the floorplate and the feed lips above it.
The L-Plate is cut for standard USGI 30-round aluminum magazines chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, making it a direct drop-in replacement — no tools, no permanent modification. Integrated holes in the plate allow you to add a paracord loop if you prefer that method for stripping a seated magazine, though the plate functions without one. Each pack includes three plates in black, so a single purchase handles a meaningful portion of a standard loadout. If you run USGI aluminum magazines and want a more positive grip surface than the factory floorplate provides, this is a straightforward and durable solution.
