Description
The PMAG 25 LR/SR GEN M3 is Magpul’s standard-capacity magazine for SR25 and M110 pattern rifles chambered in 7.62×51 NATO. It fills a specific need: a purpose-built, polymer box magazine that feeds reliably in a platform where a feeding failure costs more than it would in a carbine.
The constant-curve internal geometry matters because .308 Winchester cartridges are long enough that a straight-wall magazine must compromise either capacity or reliability to manage the transition from stack to feedlip. Magpul’s curved body follows the natural arc of the cartridge stack, which keeps spring pressure consistent from the first round to the last and reduces the binding that causes nose-down misfeeds. The anti-tilt, self-lubricating polymer follower reinforces this — it stays square in the body under spring load rather than rocking, which is the direct mechanical cause of most semi-auto magazine stoppages.
The translucent MagLevel windows on both sides of the body let you check round count without removing the magazine, and a painted indicator on the spring gives a second reference point when light is limited. The floorplate is flared to give your fingers a positive pull surface during a reload, and the aggressive front and rear texture on the body helps with retention during a chamber check. A dot-matrix panel on the bottom accepts paint-pen marking so you can distinguish loads or zero data across multiple magazines without tape labels that peel off in the field.
Construction is impact- and crush-resistant polymer with a stainless steel spring. The magazine is designed around SAAMI-specification ammunition, so standard commercial and military-surplus 7.62×51 should feed without issue. Made in the USA.
