Description

The PRS Lite is Magpul’s answer to a recurring problem in precision AR builds: the original PRS GEN3 is an excellent stock, but it carries real weight. Shooters putting together a DMR-style rifle on a budget or a weight limit have had to choose between a precision-oriented stock and a manageable carry weight. The PRS Lite removes that compromise by paring the PRS platform down to its essential adjustments and building them into a skeletonized polymer and aluminum chassis that comes in at ten ounces less than the GEN3.

The two adjustments that matter most for a precision interface are both present: comb height moves through 0.8 inches of range to get your eye consistently behind the optic, and length of pull spans 1.4 inches to fit the stock to the shooter’s frame and gear. Neither adjustment is tool-free, which is part of how Magpul recovered that ten ounces — fewer locking mechanisms means less hardware. For a rifle that lives at a bench or in a vehicle, that trade is straightforward. For a competition gun where mid-stage adjustments are routine, it is worth considering before purchasing.

The butt-pad is rubber and adjustable for both height and cant, which lets you dial in the angle at which the stock contacts your shoulder rather than simply shimming for elevation. Sling options are genuinely flexible: an ambidextrous 1.25-inch loop is built in, a QD sling swivel cup is reversible to either side, and a second QD position is available for shooters who want dedicated front and rear attachment points on the stock itself.

The stock fits carbine, SR25, and A5 receiver extension tubes and works across both .223 and .308 receiver patterns, so it carries over if the host rifle changes. Finished in Magpul’s Olive Drab Green and made in the U.S.A.
