MAGPUL RSA RAIL SLING ATTACHMENT

Description

The Magpul RSA clips onto any 1913 Picatinny rail and converts it into a dedicated sling attachment point — useful on rifles, carbines, or any railed platform that didn’t ship with one built in. The design is aimed at shooters running clip-on sling systems like the Magpul Paraclip, where a fixed loop or QD socket simply won’t work with the hardware at hand.

The attachment point is engineered with a wide range of motion, which matters in practice: a sling that pivots freely lets you transition between shooting positions and swing the rifle out of the way without fighting the attachment hardware or loading the mounting point awkwardly. A restricted pivot forces the sling to twist or bind, which slows manipulation and puts lateral stress on the mount over time.

Construction is precision cast steel, case hardened and finished in QPQ salt bath nitride. That process treats the surface rather than coating it, so the finish doesn’t add appreciable thickness and won’t chip or flake under hard use. The nitride treatment resists both wear and corrosion, which is relevant on a part that sees constant contact with a moving sling and whatever weather comes with it. Magpul has tested the RSA to withstand over 300 pounds of force — a meaningful margin above any realistic sling load. Total added weight is 1.3 ounces.

The low-profile geometry keeps the mount from catching on gear or obstructing optics, and it sits close enough to the rail that it doesn’t create a snag point where the sling can loop around the attachment during a transition. Made in the USA.
