The Magpul M-LOK Thumb Shelf is a support-hand positioning aid designed for shooters who want a more repeatable grip on octagonal M-LOK handguards. By giving your support-side thumb a defined ledge to press against, the shelf creates a consistent reference point shot to shot — something that matters when managing muzzle rise under speed or when shooting from a braced position against a barricade or barrier edge.

The top surface is ribbed and curved rather than flat, which keeps the thumb from sliding forward during recoil and maintains contact through the full firing cycle. That contact is what translates thumb pressure into actual muzzle control, so the geometry isn’t incidental — it’s doing real work. The ambidextrous design means the shelf functions the same whether you run it on the left or right side of the handguard, and it occupies only a single M-LOK slot, leaving the surrounding real estate open for lights, lasers, or other accessories.

Magpul molds the shelf from their proprietary polymer, the same material used across their accessory line. It ships in Flat Dark Earth, which coordinates with FDE-finished handguards and receivers without requiring dye-lot matching. Compatibility is specific: this shelf is intended for octagonal aluminum M-LOK handguards only and will not index correctly on round-profile or KeyMod forends. If your handguard fits that profile, the shelf installs with standard M-LOK hardware and requires no tools beyond what you’d use for any other M-LOK accessory.
