Description
The Magpul XTM Hand Stop Kit is built for shooters who run a Picatinny-railed forend and want a reliable index point without adding unnecessary bulk or weight. Its primary job is to give the support hand a consistent reference position and, critically, to act as a physical barrier that prevents the hand from sliding forward into the muzzle blast or onto a hot front sight assembly during sustained fire — a practical concern that becomes real under stress or with an unfamiliar grip.
The kit ships as four separate pieces that work together as a system: a large hand stop that mounts to the rail with a 1/8″ hex tool, a standard-size XTM rail cover, a short index panel, and a half-size XTM rail cover that seats forward of the index panel. The hand stop itself uses a bolt-down attachment to stay locked in place under rough handling, while the remaining three sections connect to each other and to the rail using the same interlocking tab system found on Magpul’s XTM Rail Covers. That shared interface means the panels can be repositioned or reconfigured to suit different hand sizes or grip styles without tools. All panel surfaces carry Magpul’s TSP texture, which provides a more positive purchase than a smooth polymer surface without being abrasive against bare skin. The FDE finish — Flat Dark Earth — is matched to Magpul’s broader lineup of stocks, grips, and accessories for shooters building a coordinated color scheme. Made in the USA from Magpul’s glass-filled polymer, the kit keeps weight low while holding up to the kind of hard use that would wear softer materials down quickly.
