Description
The Magpul XTM Hand Stop Kit is a practical solution for shooters who want better control of their support hand position without adding significant bulk or weight to a railed handguard. Mounted directly to a 1913 Picatinny rail, it creates a positive index point that keeps the support hand consistently placed and, critically, prevents it from drifting forward toward a hot muzzle or front sight assembly during rapid fire or sustained strings.
The kit ships as four separate pieces that work together as a system: a primary hand stop that anchors to the rail with a 1/8″ hex fastener, a standard-size XTM rail cover, a short index panel, and a half-size XTM cover that installs forward of the index. The latter three snap into place using the same interlocking tab system found on Magpul’s XTM Rail Covers, which means no additional tools are needed once the hand stop itself is secured. Those tabs lock the panels firmly enough to stay put under the kind of handling that would dislodge a simple friction-fit cover.
All panel surfaces carry Magpul’s TSP texture, which provides a more deliberate grip surface compared to smooth polymer. The hand stop and panels are molded from Magpul’s standard durable polymer in ODG — the same color used across Magpul’s stock, grip, and accessory line — so it integrates cleanly with a coordinated build. The kit protects unused rail segments from dirt and impact while keeping overall profile low. Made in the USA.
