Description
The MDT LSS Gen 3 Buttstock Interface in the XTN configuration is designed for shooters who want to reconfigure the back end of their LSS Gen 3 chassis without disturbing their optic zero or barreled action. The interface mounts directly to the LSS Gen 3 chassis base and accepts XTN-pattern buttstocks — including the SRS-X Elite, SRS-XF Premier, SRS-X Lite, and HNT Buttstock — giving you meaningful flexibility in how the rifle fits and handles without requiring a full chassis swap.
Machined from 6061 aluminum and finished in Cerakote, the interface keeps weight low while maintaining the dimensional consistency that precision fitment demands. The XTN Short interface is the recommended choice if you’re pairing with an HNT Buttstock, and it’s worth noting that Ruger-specific XTN interfaces are not compatible with the HNT Buttstock — so buttstock selection matters when choosing your interface variant. This standard XTN interface is likewise not compatible with the MDT STS Buttstock.
The practical value here is straightforward: if your mission changes — from a field hunting setup to a long-range prone configuration — you can swap interfaces in minutes using the included hardware rather than buying an entirely new chassis. All necessary installation hardware is included, and MDT publishes an installation manual for the process. This is a purpose-built component for the LSS Gen 3 platform specifically and is not cross-compatible with other MDT chassis systems.
