The Mossberg Patriot chambered in 7mm PRC is aimed at hunters and long-range shooters who want a capable bolt-action at a practical price point, particularly those pursuing larger game at extended distances where the 7mm PRC’s flat trajectory and retained energy matter. This package pairs the rifle with a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9×40 scope, Weaver-style bases, and rings, so a shooter can head to the field without sourcing an optic separately.

The barrel carries a 1-in-8 twist rate, which is fast enough to stabilize the heavier, high-BC projectiles the 7mm PRC was designed around — if you plan to run lighter bullets, that twist rate will still stabilize them, but the cartridge’s case capacity is best justified with projectiles in the 160–175 grain range. The barrel is both fluted and threaded, with a recessed match crown. Fluting reduces weight without shortening the sight radius or barrel life, and the threaded muzzle accommodates a suppressor or muzzle brake without gunsmithing. The spiral-fluted bolt reduces bearing surface for a smoother cycling feel and sheds debris more readily than a standard cylindrical bolt body.

The LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) trigger is user-adjustable, which matters on a hunting rifle where pull weight preference varies widely between shooters. The drop-box magazine holds three rounds with one in the chamber. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and the synthetic stock keeps maintenance straightforward in wet conditions. No iron sights are included, so the bundled Vortex optic is the intended sighting solution out of the box.
