The Patriot Predator in .450 Bushmaster is built for hunters who need to put large-diameter, hard-hitting projectiles on deer-sized or larger game at moderate ranges, particularly in states that restrict straight-wall cartridge rifles to those chamberings. The .450 Bushmaster produces significant muzzle energy from a relatively short column of propellant, and the 20-inch barrel strikes a practical balance: it recovers most of the velocity available from that powder charge while keeping overall length manageable in a blind or dense cover. Running a 1-in-24 twist, the barrel is optimized for the heavier, longer .450 Bushmaster projectiles that stabilize best at that rotation rate — shooters selecting ammunition should favor bullets in the 250–300 grain range rather than lighter options intended for faster-twist barrels.

The Predator is built on Mossberg’s Patriot chassis, which carries the LBA trigger — a patented user-adjustable system that allows pull weight to be dialed in without a gunsmith.
