The RICO 2 H50R is a dedicated thermal weapon sight built for hunters and tactical shooters who need reliable target identification and engagement capability in low-light or no-light conditions. The 50 mm germanium objective lens gathers enough thermal energy to push detection out to 2,800 yards—useful not just for shooting distance but for earlier identification of game or threats well before a shot is practical.

The sensor outputs at 60 Hz, which keeps moving targets from smearing across the display during tracking. That matters most when an animal is quartering or when wind is affecting a target’s apparent position at distance. The round AMOLED display running at 2560×2560 fills the eyepiece evenly, so there is no rectangular frame interrupting your view the way a conventional LCD panel produces.

Where this sight earns its complexity is the integrated 1,200-yard laser rangefinder paired with an onboard ballistic calculator. Rather than referencing a hold chart, you input your bullet’s velocity and ballistic coefficient, then the system reads measured distance from the rangefinder and applies the calculated drop correction automatically. That removes one mental step at the moment of the shot. The quick-detach mount lets the sight come off and return to zero without a tools-out process, so it can move between rifles or be stored off the gun without losing your dials.
