Description
The Otis Technology 6.5mm Rifle Sectional Rod Cleaning Kit is built for shooters who want a dedicated, caliber-specific solution for maintaining .243, 6mm, 6mm ARC, and 6.5mm rifles. Rather than pulling patches through on a cheap one-piece rod that can flex and drag against the bore, this kit uses four brass rod sections that thread together end-to-end with male/female 8-32 connections. Brass is softer than steel, so the rods and included pierce-point jag won’t leave tool marks in a rifled bore the way harder metals can—a meaningful consideration when you’re running a precision barrel that holds tight tolerances.
The swivel handle lets the rod rotate freely as it follows the rifling, which keeps the brush or jag from torquing against the lands as you push through. The bronze phosphor bore brush works with that rotation to scrub carbon and copper fouling without scratching; the cotton bore mop follows to carry solvent back out. For anything outside the bore—trigger groups, bolt faces, feed ramps—the nylon all-purpose brush gives you a gentler option that won’t shed bristles into small parts.
A brass component adaptor is included to bridge thread sizes if you’re incorporating other Otis components you already own. The 100-count supply of 1″×1″ patches is sized to work with the included jag at these calibers, and the 0.5 fl. oz. bottle of FP-10 Lubricant Elite CLP handles cleaning, lubrication, and corrosion protection in a single fluid. All components are precision machined in the USA and pack into a compact format suited to a range bag or safe shelf.
