At 11 inches, it covers most semi-automatic pistols and revolvers down to .22 caliber, giving you enough length to push a patch or brush cleanly through the barrel rather than working in short, ineffective strokes.

The rod itself is coated stainless steel with a smooth, non-embedding finish. That coating matters because an abrasive or debris-collecting surface can drag grit back through the bore and score the rifling over repeated cleanings. Otis machines a standard 8-32 thread into the tip, which means it accepts their full range of brushes, mops, and jags without adapters.

The handle is where this rod earns its keep. It ships with two configurations: a ball-bearing swivel that lets the rod rotate freely with the rifling as you push a brush through, and a fixed cap you can swap in when you want a rigid, non-rotating setup for chamber cleaning or smooth-bore work.
