Description
The Elevation 2.0 is Proof Research’s answer to a recurring problem in hunting rifles: carbon fiber construction that doesn’t sacrifice the mechanical accuracy required for long-range work. It is built around a Zermatt Arms Origin action, a platform chosen for its tight receiver geometry and reliable feeding, and paired with a TriggerTech trigger whose rolling-cam mechanism breaks cleanly without the creep common to single-stage designs. That combination suits hunters and precision shooters who need a rifle they can trust from a cold barrel without a warm-up string.
The barrel is a Sendero-contour carbon fiber unit with a match-grade bore, threaded at the muzzle and shipped with a thread protector. A 1-in-10 twist rate is a practical choice for .300 Winchester Magnum: it stabilizes the heavy-for-caliber bullets that extract the most from the cartridge’s velocity envelope—think 200- to 230-grain projectiles—without over-spinning lighter hunting loads. Shooters running 180-grain standard hunting bullets will find them equally well-served. The carbon fiber wrapping over the barrel liner reduces both weight and harmonic disturbance during firing, which contributes to shot-to-shot consistency in ways that a conventional steel barrel at the same contour does not.
The stock is a fixed carbon fiber unit in Proof Research’s Black Granite finish, carried over a Hawkins Precision BDL bottom metal inlet. Fixed stocks eliminate the flex and play that collapsible designs introduce at the receiver joint, and on a magnum cartridge that consistency matters when you are calling shots from field positions. A Picatinny rail sits atop the receiver, giving the shooter a standard interface for mounting optics without additional base hardware.
