Description
The Elevation 2.0 is Proof Research’s answer to a specific problem: hunters and backcountry shooters who need a precision bolt gun that won’t punish them on the carry and will still deliver consistent andaccurate results at distance. The 18-inch barrel sits at the shorter end of what 6.5 Creedmoor typically runs, which costs a modest amount of muzzle velocity compared to longer hunting-rifle configurations but returns a meaningfully more maneuverable package in tight timber or off a pack frame. That trade-off is deliberate rather than accidental.
The barrel itself is carbon fiber wrapped over a match-grade steel core — a construction method that sheds weight without sacrificing the steel-to-rifling contact that accuracy depends on. Carbon fiber also dissipates heat differently than a steel profile barrel, which matters when you’re putting multiple rounds downrange during a hunt. The 1-in-7.5 twist rate is fast enough to stabilize the heavier long-range 6.5 Creedmoor projectiles, giving you flexibility when selecting ammunition for either extended-range work or closer field use.
The action comes from Zermatt Arms’ Origin platform, a design built around consistent bolt engagement and a smooth, repeatable cycling feel. Proof Research backs the complete rifle with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee, which means the build is held to a standard rather than just described by one. The muzzle is cut to a 5/8×24 thread, so adding a suppressor or muzzle device requires no adapter work. Sights are not included, which suits the intended use — this rifle is built around an optic from the start. The Midnight Camo stock pattern gives the rifle a low-visibility finish appropriate for field conditions without requiring any additional treatment.
