Description
The Proof Research Elevation MTR is built for precision rifle shooters who want a factory bolt gun capable of competing with custom builds at distance. This is not a hunting rifle pressed into long-range duty — it is designed from the ground up for andmark shooting, PRS-style competition, and any discipline where a cold-bore hit matters more than weight savings.
The left-hand configuration makes this a genuinely purpose-built option for southpaw shooters rather than an afterthought conversion. The bolt handle, ejection, and feeding are all mirrored correctly, so left-handed shooters can maintain their natural cheek weld and firing-hand position through the entire shooting cycle without any of the awkward accommodation that right-hand actions demand.
The 20-inch barrel reflects a deliberate balance for .22 Creedmoor. Shorter than a traditional long-range barrel, it keeps the platform maneuverable on a stage while still giving the cartridge enough dwell time to develop meaningful velocity. The .22 Creedmoor itself occupies a useful place in precision rimless cartridge design — it moves fast enough to resist wind deflection at moderate distance while producing less recoil than its 6mm and 6.5mm Creedmoor relatives, which matters when calling your own shots.
The 1-in-8 twist rate stabilizes the heavier, higher-BC projectiles that make .22 Creedmoor worth shooting at extended ranges. Lighter varmint-weight bullets will also stabilize, but this rifle is optimized for match and target profiles where bearing surface and sectional density are on the higher end of what the bore accommodates.
Proof Research builds the Elevation MTR around their carbon fiber barrel technology, which reduces barrel mass without compromising stiffness, letting heat dissipate more evenly across a sustained firing string than a steel barrel of equivalent profile.
