Description
The Elevation MTR 2.0 is built for precision shooters and hunters who need a capable lightweight rifle without giving up the mechanical refinements that matter at distance. MTR stands for Mountain Tactical Rifle, and the platform reflects that intent: the overall package is engineered around keeping weight down while maintaining the rigidity and consistency that long-range work demands.
At the center of that design is Proof Research’s carbon fiber-wrapped, match-grade barrel. Carbon fiber wrapping reduces mass compared to a full steel profile without sacrificing the stiffness that keeps harmonics predictable shot to shot — the result is a barrel that stays consistent as it heats without the weight penalty of a heavy contour. The Sendero profile strikes a balance between the rigidity of a varmint-weight tube and the carry-friendliness of a sporter taper.
The 1-in-7.5 twist rate is specifically suited to the longer, heavier projectiles that 25 Creedmoor is designed around. A faster twist like this stabilizes high-BC bullets that would be marginal or underperforming in a slower bore, so ammunition selection should focus on that heavier end of the 25-caliber projectile spectrum to take full advantage of the rifling.
The Zermatt Arms Origin action provides the platform’s foundation, paired with a TriggerTech trigger known for a clean, repeatable pull that doesn’t require significant hand strength to break predictably. The detachable box magazine system adds practical flexibility in the field, and the 5/8-24 threaded muzzle leaves the barrel ready to accept additional hardware. The PROOF carbon fiber stock in TFDE continues the weight-reduction philosophy from the barrel all the way through the chassis, and a single-piece pinned rail keeps the optic mounting setup straightforward and repeatable.
