The Elevation MTR is Proof Research’s answer to a specific problem: building a precision bolt-action rifle light enough to carry into the field without sacrificing the accuracy standard that long-range hunting and competition demand. It is aimed at shooters who move terrain on foot and still expect single-digit MOA performance at extended distances rather than choosing one or the other.

The foundation is a Zermatt Arms Origin action, which is built around consistent bolt-to-receiver fit and a repeatable lockup — qualities that matter when you are asking a rifle to shoot the same point of impact across a cold bore, a fouled bore, and a warm barrel. The Origin pairs here with a carbon fiber-wrapped match-grade barrel, a construction method that sheds weight along the entire tube while managing heat differently than a steel profile barrel would. Carbon’s thermal characteristics help the barrel return to a more consistent temperature between strings, which has a direct effect on point-of-impact consistency during field-use strings where you cannot wait for a full cool-down.

The 1-in-9 twist rate is matched to the bullet weights 300 PRC is designed around — the cartridge was purpose-built for long, high-BC projectiles, and a faster twist stabilizes them. Handloaders and factory ammunition buyers alike will find the twist optimized for the heavy-for-caliber bullets that make 300 PRC competitive at distance rather than for lighter, shorter options. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, so a suppressor or muzzle brake can be mounted without an adapter. The rifle comes with a five-round MDT Steel AICS-pattern magazine, which is compatible with the broad ecosystem of AICS-footprint bottom metal. The Midnight Camo carbon fiber stock carries the same material logic as the barrel — structural rigidity without the penalty of a wood or polymer chassis.
