Description

The Latitude is Proof Research’s answer to a recurring problem in precision rimfire: building a rifle that can genuinely be trained on at close range and then taken to the field without the shooter compromising on either fit or mechanical quality. It is built around the Zermatt Arms RimX action, a platform scaled to the same footprint as a full-size centerfire bolt action, which means the ergonomics and manual of arms carry over directly from a shooter’s centerfire setup. That deliberate dimensional parity makes the Latitude genuinely useful as a training analogue rather than a separate discipline.

The barrel is a cut-rifled, carbon fiber-wrapped match-grade unit. Carbon fiber wrapping reduces mass along the barrel’s length without softening the steel liner, which keeps the point of impact stable as the barrel heats across a sustained range session. A 1-in-16 twist rate is optimized for standard-weight .22 LR projectiles in the 40-grain range — it stabilizes those bullets well without over-spinning lighter match loads. The barrel is threaded 1/2-28, making it compatible with the widest range of rimfire muzzle devices.

The stock is Proof Research’s own carbon fiber Latitude chassis in Green Jungle Camo, offered here in the fixed configuration. A 20 MOA rail is installed from the factory, giving a scope mount the elevation offset needed to use available adjustment range for extended distances rather than burning it at zero. The TriggerTech Special trigger ships with the rifle and is a known quantity among precision rimfire competitors for its rolling-contact design that produces a consistent break without creep.
