Description

The Primary Weapons Systems FRC is a compensator built for shooters who want muzzle control today and a straightforward path to running a suppressor later. The design addresses two goals at once: reducing muzzle rise under rapid fire and serving as a ready interface for compatible PWS suppressors, so there is no need to swap muzzle devices when a can enters the picture.

The 1/2×28 thread pattern is the standard for .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO barrels, meaning the FRC installs without adapters on the overwhelming majority of AR-pattern rifles chambered in those cartridges. The flat two-port configuration vents propellant gas upward to push the muzzle down against the natural tendency to climb during recoil. That effect is most noticeable in strings of fire where keeping the dot or front sight on target between shots matters — competition stages, drills, or any situation where split times count.

PWS machines the FRC in a black finish that keeps the profile clean and consistent with standard carbine aesthetics. The construction is compact enough that it does not meaningfully extend the overall length of a standard-length barrel, and the suppressor-ready geometry means the exit point is properly aligned for a direct-mount PWS suppressor without requiring timing shims in most installations — though checking alignment is always good practice during any muzzle device installation.

For a shooter who already runs a suppressor or is planning to add one, the FRC removes the inconvenience of choosing between a compensator and a mount. For a shooter who will never run a suppressor, it still performs as a capable standalone compensator on any 1/2×28-threaded .223 or 5.56 host.
