Description
The Radian Weapons Model 1 in 6mm ARC is built for precision rifle work at distance — whether that means extended range sessions, gas-gun competition, or hunting where reach matters. It is not a budget AR dressed up in premium parts; every major component is Radian’s own design or a carefully specified contract part, and the entire package is assembled and finished as a unit rather than as a parts-kit build.
The 18-inch stainless steel barrel is where 6mm ARC genuinely earns its keep. That cartridge was engineered around the AR platform to deliver long-range ballistic performance that standard .223 cannot match at 600-plus yards, and the longer barrel extracts more of the available velocity without the need for a magnum-length action. The operating system runs on direct impingement, and the longer dwell time that comes with an 18-inch tube generally smooths the impulse curve relative to carbine-length builds — the gas arrives over a slightly longer window, which distributes the felt push rather than concentrating it.
Radian cerakotes the upper, lower, and handguard together as a matched set, so the Flat Dark Earth finish is consistent rather than a three-part approximation. The extended aluminum M-LOK handguard integrates with the upper rather than clamping around a barrel nut, which improves rigidity and gives a clean surface for accessories. The Raptor-SD charging handle is designed with suppressor backpressure in mind, and the Talon safety selector runs at both 45- and 90-degree throw positions — useful for shooters transitioning between different grip styles or rig setups. A 20-round magazine is included, and the controls throughout are fully ambidextrous.
