Description

The Raptor is Radian Weapons’ answer to a persistent problem with the standard AR-15 charging handle: the factory latch favors right-handed shooters and requires a grip compromise for anyone running the rifle from the support side or wearing heavy gloves. The Raptor replaces the single-latch design with a fully ambidextrous system, meaning both levers are mechanically active rather than one being a cosmetic mirror. Either side can be used independently with the same amount of force, so left-handed shooters and right-handed shooters operating under stress or in awkward positions have identical capability.

The lever geometry is designed to work whether the shooter uses a palm-blade stroke or a two-finger pinch, which matters when rapid manipulation is the goal. The latch mechanism still indexes and locks forward the same way a standard charging handle does, so installation is a direct swap with no modification to the upper receiver.

Radian machines the Raptor from 7075 aluminum, which is the same alloy used in AR-15 upper and lower receivers, and finishes it with a Type III hard coat anodize. That anodize class produces a harder surface than standard Type II, which holds up better against the repetitive metal-on-metal contact inside the upper receiver during cycling. The result is a component that fits within existing AR-15 geometry while meaningfully improving access for a wider range of shooters and working conditions.
