Description

The Raptor-LT is Radian Weapons’ answer to a straightforward problem: the standard mil-spec charging handle was designed around right-handed shooters running iron sights, and it shows. Scope-equipped rifles, support-side manipulations, and any situation where a full firing-hand grip on the handle isn’t practical all expose that limitation. The Raptor-LT addresses it with a patented ambidextrous latch design that gives equal mechanical purchase from either side, so left-handed shooters aren’t working around a handle that was never built for them, and right-handed shooters gain a functional support-side option without having to break their firing grip awkwardly.

The construction reflects a deliberate weight trade-off. The body is machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum — the same alloy used in the full Raptor — and finished with a Type III hard-coat anodize for corrosion resistance and surface hardness. The latch wings, rather than aluminum, are overmolded with high-strength fiberglass-reinforced polymer. That combination brings the overall weight down relative to an all-metal build while keeping the latch surfaces tactile and grippy under wet or gloved hands. The tradeoff is that the polymer wings will show wear differently than anodized aluminum over a high round count, which is worth knowing going in.

Fit is mil-spec AR-15 and M16 pattern upper receivers — no gunsmithing, no modification, drop-in installation. The latch tabs are larger than a standard mil-spec charging handle, which matters practically when a rear-mounted optic sits close to the handle and leaves little room for a fingertip pull.
