Description

The Rearden FHD is a flash hider built for shooters who want a single muzzle device that handles both bare-muzzle use and suppressor hosting without swapping hardware. It threads onto 1/2×28 barrels and is purpose-designed to interface with Rearden’s R Series mounts—including the Atlas, Atlas XL, and Plan B—so moving between suppressed and unsuppressed configurations is a matter of attaching or removing the can rather than pulling the muzzle device entirely.

The aggressive port geometry disrupts the expanding gas cloud at the crown rather than just redirecting it, which helps maintain a cleaner sight picture in low-light conditions where muzzle flash would otherwise degrade your vision between shots. That’s a meaningful distinction from devices that prioritize recoil management over flash suppression.

Construction is 17-4 PH H900 stainless steel, a precipitation-hardened alloy selected for its combination of tensile strength and corrosion resistance. The H900 designation refers to the aging temperature in the heat treatment process, which drives hardness up while keeping the material tough enough to tolerate the repeated thermal cycling of suppressor attachment. The resulting finish carries a wheat tone characteristic of the heat treat process. The shoulder profile is square-cut, which matters for consistent clocking if you’re timing the device or running a mount that indexes against that surface. Shims are not included; if your barrel lacks a thread relief groove, you’ll likely need them to time correctly. An alignment rod check after installation is the right call before putting rounds downrange.
