Description

The Reptilia DOT Mount is built for shooters running Aimpoint ACRO or Steiner MPS optics on submachine guns or AK-pattern rifles with Picatinny-railed gas tubes — platforms where standard-height mounts sit too high to achieve a practical co-witness with backup iron sights. The ultra-low height addresses that geometry directly, bringing the optic down to a sight line that works with these shorter, lower-rail systems rather than fighting them.

The mount is machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, a material choice that keeps mass down without trading away the rigidity a red dot mount needs to hold zero under repeated recoil and handling. Where the mount contacts the rail, a spring-loaded nitrided steel clamp and mounting bolt handle the clamping work. Nitriding the steel components improves surface hardness and corrosion resistance without adding meaningfully to weight. The interface itself attaches to a standard 1913 Picatinny rail, so it fits any host weapon built to that specification.

The exterior receives a Mil-Spec Type III hard anodize finish in black. Type III anodizing produces a significantly harder and more wear-resistant surface layer than standard Type II, which matters on a component that gets handled, holstered, or dragged through fieldwork. The mount also accepts any optic built to the ACRO mounting standard, extending its compatibility beyond the two named optics to anything sharing that footprint. The entire assembly is manufactured in the USA.
