Description

The Reptilia 13″ M-LOK handguard is built for AR-15 shooters who want a free-float platform that installs without specialized armorer tools. The defining feature is Reptilia’s patented turnbuckle system, which locks the handguard to the barrel nut through a mechanical clamping action rather than requiring the handguard to be clocked, staked, or torqued to precise specifications at installation. That means a solid, repeatable fit without a barrel nut wrench or dedicated alignment fixture.

Free-floating the barrel matters because any contact between handguard and barrel introduces pressure that can shift point of impact as the barrel heats or as a support hand grips differently. A free-float design eliminates that variable entirely, so the barrel is only constrained at the receiver and can vibrate freely through its harmonic cycle without interference.

The handguard is machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which is a higher-strength alloy than the 6061 series common in extruded handguard bodies. The added material density doesn’t translate to meaningfully heavier weight at this length, but it does increase rigidity under lateral stress — relevant when accessories like bipods or vertical grips are torqued into the M-LOK slots. The finish is MIL-STD Type III, Class 2 hard anodize in Flat Dark Earth, a specification that sets minimum coating thickness and hardness for abrasion resistance. Anti-rotation tabs index against the upper receiver to keep the handguard from walking under load. Barrel nut and hardware are included.
