Description
The B5 Systems CAR15 Handguard is built for builders and shooters who want a retro-pattern AR-15 to look and feel the part without sacrificing durability. It targets the growing segment of retro and period-correct AR builds where a modern M-LOK or Picatinny rail system would undermine the whole point of the project.
The handguard reproduces the classic six-hole CAR15 profile that defined early AR-15 carbines, so it drops in where a triangle or round handguard cap already exists without requiring any additional hardware changes. What it adds over the original alloy handguards it references is an integral heat shield — something those vintage pieces never included — which gives the shooter a meaningful layer of protection against barrel heat during sustained fire while preserving the silhouette that makes a retro build recognizable.
Construction is composite rather than aluminum, which keeps weight down compared to the original metal versions. The material also handles heat transfer differently than bare alloy, so the grip stays more manageable during extended range sessions. B5 omits rail slots entirely on this model, a deliberate choice that maintains the slim, uncluttered profile and keeps the handguard honest to the era it references. If you need accessory attachment points, this is the wrong handguard — but if a clean, lightweight, period-correct look is the goal, the absence of rails is the feature, not a limitation.
Made in the USA by B5 Systems, the CAR15 Handguard is available in black and fits carbine-length gas system AR-15 builds.
