Description
The Riton Contessa 34mm Picatinny rings are precision-machined fixed rings aimed at shooters who want a no-compromise mounting solution for large-tube optics on Picatinny-railed platforms. Fixed rings, unlike quick-detach designs, eliminate the small amount of mechanical play that any locking lever system introduces, which matters when you are building a dedicated precision or hunting rifle that stays zeroed and lives on one optic.
The rings are machined from hardened steel rather than aluminum. Steel costs weight on the rifle, but it also resists deformation under the sustained recoil of magnum cartridges and heavy-barreled platforms where aluminum can gradually develop fretting at the ring-to-optic interface. For a scope that stays mounted long-term, that trade-off is straightforward.
The 19mm height positions the centerline of a 34mm tube at a measured distance above the bore axis. Choosing the right height for your setup depends on objective bell diameter, the profile of your stock’s comb, and your preferred cheek weld — too low and the bell contacts the barrel or handguard, too high and you sacrifice consistent head position. The 19mm figure gives you a reference point to check clearance before ordering.
The black finish on the steel is consistent with Riton’s standard treatment across the Contessa line and will match most factory-finished rifles without drawing attention. Installation follows standard Picatinny ring procedure: the mounting feet index to the rail’s cross-slots for consistent fore-and-aft positioning every time the rings go back on.
