Description
Big bore rifles generate enough recoil to pull you off target before the bullet clears the muzzle. The Rugged Suppressors 3 Port Brake is designed to address that directly, venting propellant gases through three ports to counteract muzzle rise and push the rifle forward against the shooter rather than back into the shoulder. The result is faster target reacquisition and reduced fatigue during extended range sessions with cartridges up to .338 and 8.6 Blackout.
What sets this brake apart from a standalone muzzle device is its integration into Rugged Suppressors’ mounting ecosystem. The brake is built around the R.U.M. — Rugged Universal Mount — interface, which accepts 1.375×24 threaded suppressors. The Dual Taper Locking System provides the mechanical basis for that connection, centering the suppressor on the bore and securing it against the forces of repeated firing. It is specifically compatible with the Alaskan360 and Alaskan360Ti suppressors, making it a functional standalone brake now and a ready suppressor mount later without any modification to the rifle or the brake itself.
The Black Nitride finish is applied over the steel construction, offering corrosion resistance and a low-reflectivity surface that holds up under the heat and fouling generated at the muzzle. The 3/4″-24 thread pattern fits a range of large-caliber bolt-action and semi-automatic platforms without adapters. If you are running a .338-class rifle and want a muzzle brake that leaves room to add a suppressor down the line, this is a practical, purpose-built solution rather than a compromise.
