The Rugged Suppressors Obsidian Fixed Mount (OF007) is a dedicated mounting solution for shooters running the Obsidian 45 or Obsidian 9 suppressor on a carbine or subgun with a fixed barrel. The standard Obsidian configuration ships with a Nielsen device — a spring-loaded booster assembly that allows the suppressor to cycle semi-automatic pistols by letting the can move independently of the slide. On a fixed-barrel host like a PCC, a braced pistol with a fixed barrel, or a bolt-action platform, that booster is not only unnecessary but counterproductive: the movement it introduces can affect point of impact and adds a mechanical variable that serves no purpose when the barrel isn’t moving. The OF007 replaces the booster entirely, threading directly onto a .578×28 muzzle and locking the suppressor in a rigid, static position.

The practical result is a more consistent mounting interface. With no moving parts between the barrel and the can, there is nothing to wear, rattle, or shift between sessions, which matters for anyone using the suppressed host for anything beyond casual range work.
