Description

The R3 Flash Mitigation System is Rugged Suppressors’ purpose-built muzzle device for shooters who run one of their 7.62-compatible cans and want a host-side solution that handles both flash and suppressor attachment in a single unit. Rather than a conventional toothed or notched locking interface, Rugged designed the R3 around their Dual Taper Locking System — a snag-free, toothless mechanism that mates directly with the Radiant762, Surge762, Razor762, and Micro30 suppressors. The practical benefit is a repeatable, rattle-free lock-up without the sharp geometry that catches on gear during transitions.

The flash reduction side of the equation relies on variable fluted prongs, a geometry that breaks up the combustion signature across multiple exit points rather than concentrating it. The result is described by Rugged as zero-ring performance, meaning the circular flash crown common to some muzzle devices is eliminated. The finish is Black Nitride, an applied surface treatment that provides corrosion resistance and wear hardness well-suited to the heat cycling a muzzle device sees in regular use.
