Description
The Havak Pro Hunter 3 is built for hunters who move through country where weight and packability matter but still need a rifle capable of reaching out at distance. It is a purpose-driven field rifle, not a bench gun dressed up for the mountains, and the design reflects that priority throughout.
The quick-change barrel system pairs with a three-lug bolt and a 60-degree throw, which keeps the bolt handle from fouling a low-mounted optic during a fast follow-up shot—a genuine practical advantage over traditional 90-degree designs when glass sits close to the bore. The same system allows toolless bolt disassembly, so field cleaning or a future caliber swap does not require a trip to a workbench. The 1-in-8-inch twist rate is well-suited to the heavier, high-BC projectiles that the 7mm PRC was designed around, stabilizing the long-for-caliber bullets that make the cartridge effective at extended ranges without requiring a compromise toward lighter options.
The barrel is fluted and threaded, with fluting removing material and reducing both weight and heat retention during a multi-shot string. Threading opens the door to a muzzle device of the shooter’s choice. The integrated 20 MOA Picatinny rail gives a long-range setup a meaningful head start on elevation adjustment before the scope runs out of internal travel. The Mountain Shadow stock includes an adjustable cheek riser, which matters when pairing different optics with different objective heights—a fixed comb forces a compromise that a riser eliminates. The included carbon fiber magazine keeps the overall package as light as the action’s steel receiver allows.
