Description
The Havak Element M3 is Seekins Precision’s answer to a specific problem: a hunter or backcountry shooter who needs a precision bolt gun light enough to carry all day but accurate enough to perform at distance. Seekins builds these rifles in Lewiston, Idaho, holding machining tolerances more associated with custom-shop work than factory production.
The carbon fiber-wrapped barrel is the most consequential design choice here. Steel carries heat and weight; wrapping a steel core in carbon fiber sheds meaningful mass from the rifle’s balance point without sacrificing the rigidity needed to hold a consistent zero. On a rifle carried over rough terrain, that difference accumulates across miles. The Mountain Shadow Carbon Cerakote finish on the action and chassis adds a layer of corrosion resistance suited to wet field conditions while breaking up the rifle’s outline in typical hunting environments.
The 1-in-11.25-inch twist rate is tuned for the pressure and bullet-weight range that .308 Win shooters most commonly run — heavier long-range projectiles in the 168–175 grain window stabilize well here, making the rifle versatile across both hunting loads and match ammunition without over-spinning lighter bullets. The chassis-style stock allows length-of-pull and comb-height adjustments, which matters when you’re fitting the rifle to different shooters or dialing in cheek weld for a specific optic height. The two-lug bolt provides a smooth, reliable cycling stroke, and the adjustable trigger lets you set a break weight that suits your shooting style rather than accepting a factory compromise. The detachable three-round magazine keeps the package clean while allowing quick reloads at the range.
